I a musing BQ24650 for VRLA battery charging. In order to provide Fast charge current configurability, I am introducing PGA281 in the current loop path as shown in attached file .
When the battery is not connected, then I am getting pulse at both pins HIDRV and LODRV for driving both FETs.
But, when I connecting the battery, HIDRV pulse is coming but LODRV is always LOW, thus it seems the lower FET internal diode is conducting and not the channel, making it non-synchronous basi buck regulator with more losses.
Kindly, suggest the reason for LODRV shutting down while charging when HIDRV pulses are coming from BQ24650 IC.
