Hello Yaita-san,

These charge current programming limits are dependent on a number of factors. The ranges are typically set as 4 to 6 sigma distributions meaning that while there is a chance the charge current could drift to these limits it is not likely. I was able to duplicate your numbers assuming absolute worst case scenarios for both Viset and Kset.

There are a number of selling points for the TI device over the LT charger

-BQ24060 has integrated OVP which can protect the charger and downstream components with needing an additional front end protection IC.

-BQ24060 has equivalent or better battery leakage current numbers than the LT part.

They could also look at the BQ25060 which has the smaller package size with an integrated LDO and boasts a charge current regulation accuracy of 7%. It also incorporates input OVP and has an optional external BATFET to reduce conduction losses by providing a lower resistance path from the battery.
